Reconnective Energy Healing        I am going to write about the wonderful experience of the duck. I like to share it with you-but also I want to keep a record of personal healing stories and I have to number this as first miracle. Not that other healings I’ve heard of have not been as valuable, but this one happened in such a short time it seemed miraculous to me.      I was at a rental house over July4th, 2008 for a few weeks at Honeoye Lake-one of the Fingerlakes in NY. I had had a lot of family around but now it was getting toward the end of vacation and I was alone at the house on the enclosed porch. It was a drizzly kind of day. I happened to glance out at the dock-a beautiful view on the lake-and noticed a lump on the dock. At first I didn’t know what it was-then realized it was a duck. It was so inert I thought it was a dead duck. Its friends came near  (in my mind trying to rally it) and it tried to stand up. It was wobbling around in circles shaking and looked like one of its feet was missing or totally backwards. It was trying to stand on this thin stick of a leg with no visible foot on the wet slippery dock. What a pathetic sight!      I started crying for the duck and probably for all the lame ducks of the world. It had given up and sat back down with its head resting on its back-as they do-and looked resigned to its fate. Its friends had left too. It suddenly occurred to me to beam the Energy at it. I have since qualified in levels 1,2,and 3 of Dr. Eric Pearl’s Reconnective Healing and The Reconnection. I hadn’t taken Level 3 yet then and wasn’t a real fan of beaming but for some reason it seemed appropriate. I stood there on the porch about 150 feet from the duck and started beaming with 2 hands. It was only a minute perhaps and the duck ruffled its feathers. Then it turned its head and STARED at me! I beamed about another minute, while it stared at me the whole time. It stood up on 2 webbed feet with perfect balance and took a step to the side of the dock and jumped in the water!    The duck immediately swam in a straight line to a place for feeding and its friends joined it. Well I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was thinking that the foot must have healed a LOT for the duck to be able to swim in a straight line, along with balancing the jump and taking the step. I almost couldn’t believe the evidence of what was happening right in front of me.     I know I have heard miraculous stories from many people doing Reconnection work. But to have that happen in my presence was almost a shock. I was struck by how unresisting the duck was. It didn’t seem to lament its disability-and then when it was well it just started acting like a normal duck. I kept tracking it and at times it did seem a bit unsteady walking over slippery rocks at the edge of the water -but what I thought was ready for death became a feeding duck in the company of friends, able to move in its world with relative ease and much improved energy.     Part of my reason for writing this, I suppose, is that it is so far out of my previous realm of experience I still need to see it in black and white and revisit it. The duck was unresisting to the healing-perhaps that was the biggest lesson for me. Also, that the healing did not happen from any effort on my part- that was very clear. I was willing to engage with the duck and the Energy and that was easy, but that was all I did.     Energy Healing is becoming more commonplace, accepted and understood today and I am so grateful that I am able to participate in any healings-human or duck!
